Pitchcrow Agent

Why can't I edit a slide?

Find out why a slide or sheet is locked, and what to do about it.

Pitchcrow is working on it

While Pitchcrow changes a slide, that slide is locked. This keeps your edits and Pitchcrow's from running into each other. You can still read the slide while it works. You'll see:

  • A light moving around the edge of the slide, and Agent is working on its bottom edge.
  • A lock and the word Agent on the slide's thumbnail in the slide list.

In a sheet, if you try to type in a cell while Pitchcrow is working there, a message says Agent is working on this sheet.

The lock lifts on its own when Pitchcrow finishes. You can keep editing other slides in the meantime. To get the slide back sooner, stop Pitchcrow.

Someone else is editing it

A message like Jordan is editing this slide means a teammate has it open for editing. Wait for them to finish.

You're a Viewer

If you see View only at the top of a deck or sheet, you're a Viewer in that space. Viewers can open decks and sheets, copy from them, and leave comments, but they can't edit or ask Pitchcrow for changes. Ask an Admin of the space to make you an Editor. See Space roles.

The View only label next to the Share button at the top of a sheet

Your connection dropped

Realtime connection required to edit this deck means your browser lost its live connection to Pitchcrow. Editing comes back when it reconnects. If it doesn't, reload the page.

"Could not enable freeform editing"

To move things on a slide Pitchcrow built, you click an element and then Enable freeform editing. This turns the slide into one you can edit by hand.

If you see Could not enable freeform editing. Ask Pitchcrow to fix this slide., Pitchcrow couldn't make that switch for this slide. Ask it in the chat, for example "Fix slide 4 so I can edit it by hand." Then try again.
